Honeybee Swimsuit

Over the long weekend I got to try out my new swimsuit I recently finished! I love love love the honeybee pattern, even though it kind of looks like it should be used in children's wear. Oh well!

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day all! Today I thought, okay I will either go military-esc or nautical... kind of a non-choice for me because I looooove red white and blue anything. This is my 4th of July skirt I made last summer (but of course forgot to blog about!). I made it all out of random found-fabric from my parent's basement. I love sewing this kind of skirt (slightly flared, pockets, yoke) because its super fast and easy, but I decided to spice it up with the ruffle waistband. Want the same look? Just take 3, 1 and a half inch width strips, finish the edges and baste the middle. Gather them up and sew on!

Apron for Melanie!

Alright, I have decided to actually start being good about documenting all my sewing projects! Here is an apron I made a month ago for my friend Mel. The fabric is from this adorable store in Springville called Corn Wagon Quilt Co.- one of my absolute faves. Mostly because they sell adorable Moda fabric and Michael Miller. Most of my cotton projects all stemmed from my inability to go to that store and leave empty handed.

Soon to come: pics of my swimsuits!
